Blended Training - Embracing Change

Course Overview

Across the workshop we explore the impact of change and why it can be so difficult to deal with, while exploring key resilience strategies to help cope and thrive during times of change. The pre-work will provide the models, theories and ideas that support this course, and the virtual session will concentrate on practical activities that help to consolidate this learning.

 

 

 

 

Duration: 3-hour Live Virtual session on Zoom and some supplementary pre and post work.

This virtual workshop is delivered as blended training with a 3-hour virtual session on Zoom and some supplementary pre and post work.

The virtual session will run from 9.30 a.m. – 13.00 p.m. with a 30-minute break. The pre and post work will be made available on email or JCS LMS. It is required that the pre-work be completed prior to attending the programme.

This course is designed for those who want to build and maintain their resilience to change.

  • Your personal experiences of change.
  • Why we need change.
  • Taking control of the change around us
  • The Change Process Model.
  • Predictable responses to change.
  • Ways to maintain a feeling of control.
  • Building Resilience to Change
  • Assessing your own resilience to change
  • Developing the tools and techniques for building and maintaining your resilience to change
  • Embracing Change
  • Letting go of what we cannot control.
  • Influencing what we can control.
  • Building strategies for working with what we have direct control over.

Through the pre-work and the virtual sessions participants will be able to:

  • Identify the emotions and behaviours people go through during change.
  • Understand the impact of a feeling of control in change situations.
  • Recognising how to feel in control even in a changing world.
  • Assess own resilience to coping with change.
  • Develop strategies for building and maintaining levels of resilience.
  • Learn tools and techniques that will support you to embrace change.

The Post-Activity will allow participants to:

  • Identify 3 tools or techniques discussed during the course that will help to maintain your resilience, so it is available to you when you need it most.
  • Build a new strategy that will enable you to embrace more changes around you in a positive way.
