Course Overview

This five-day course takes delegates through each phase of a project by applying the Process Groups and Knowledge Areas that have been defined by the world's largest project management body, the Project Management Institute (PMI)®. A key objective of the course is helping potential PMP® certificate holders demonstrate that they have the necessary education, experience and competency. All relevant course materials are provided, including the core textbook 'Project Management Body of Knowledge, PMBOK® Guide'. The course concludes with a mock 100-question examination. The PMI website, www.pmi.org, has full details of the applicable fees and how delegates can arrange for the actual exam to be taken at a venue and date that meets their specific needs. Target Audience: The course is suitable for experienced project managers who wish to adopt a more structured approach to the management of projects, especially those who are working towards the Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification. The PMP certification can improve your chances of getting a job, increase your earning potential and increase your networking and job opportunities. Prerequisites Delegates are expected to have a minimum of three years' experience in leading projects. The full list of prerequisites for undertaking the PMP examination and the application process can be found at www.pmi.org. Delegates who apply for the examination after attending the course can use this event in order to meet the PMI's requirement for 35 hours of formal project management training before being accepted to sit the exam.

 

Pre-Course Reading

Delegates are not provided with any formal pre-reading before this course. Anyone who is a member of the PMI is granted access to a personal pdf copy of the PMBOK® Guide. Delegates would benefit from familiarizing themselves with its content prior to attending the course.

Outline

The Complete PMP® course uses our associates’ unique case-studies, sample exam questions and accelerated-learning techniques to ensure that theory is embedded and delegates feel confident in the practical application of the tools and techniques described in the PMBOK® Guide. Additional evening work will be required in the form of consolidation reading and further mock examination questions. The evening work is an integral part of the course and delegates should expect to spend approximately one hour on these activities.

Delegates are introduced to the world of projects and project management and to the overall structure of the PMBOK® Guide. The benefits of adopting a formal project management approach will also be outlined.

Process Groups

The 47 PMI processes are grouped into five categories known as Process Groups. The iterative implementation of these collections of activities helps to ensure that the project is delivered in a structured manner.

PMP® Examination

Throughout the course, delegates will be exposed to numerous examples of examination-type questions. We will undertake a number of exercises and 'question-and-answer' sessions that will help to consolidate the learning, thereby ensuring that delegates are adequately prepared for the final examination that can be arranged for a later date in a designated test centre.
