Course Overview
This workshop will introduce lead team members to the skills, styles and behaviours needed to transition from a team member to a leader of the shift or team. Through practical activities, individual and group exercises, participants will identify what is needed for the role, their own strengths, and the areas that they want to develop further.
Duration: 1 Day including post-activities to implement learning back into the workplace.
Session 1: Understanding the Supervisor/Team Leader Role
- Defining the role
- Recognising the transition from team member to leader
- Identifying the behaviours of the leader
- Exploring personal areas of strength and those to develop further
Output: Personal Development Plan
Session 2: Managing the performance of the team
- Understanding how to motivate the team
- Developing effective and motivation objectives
- Monitoring performance
- Dealing with under and over performance
- Developing a multi-tasking team
Output: Team skills assessment and a plan for increasing/maintaining performance
